Charlotte

Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte presents Black Pearl Sings!, the Depression-era story of a song collector from the Library of Congress who discovers a “living library of folk songs” in the form of the jailed Pearl, a descendant of slaves. The give-and-take between the two women, each with agendas, makes it an honest and wryly funny production. Preview the play Friday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 6, or take in a regular performance Wednesday, Feb. 10, through Saturday, March 6. This Charlotte regional premiere is appropriate for ages 13 and older.
